Adoption Fees

$250.00 covers the adoption of a dog All dogs are spayed or neutered , Up To Date on inoculations, Heart Worm tested and on preventative and micro-chipped for identification purposes. Some fees are lower depending on the age of a dog. 7 Years and older the fee will be adjusted. Some of our dogs require hundreds of dollars to get them on the road to recovery due to emaciation, mange, wounds etc, but we do NOT raise the adoption fee for that dog. Some require less expense, but the fee always remains the same $250.00.
 

Hero

This is Hero an 11 mo old red male Doberman who has had a really hard start in life. Covered in mange and emaciated with a fever this boy came into rescue barely able to walk by himself. Being a puppy should be remembered as happiness, warmth, snuggles, kisses and love. This poor dog had only pain , hunger, cold and misery. Hero has been with us now for a few weeks and has advanced to being in a foster home to learn his manners and have the exercise, love and companionship he has longed for. He is now ready to start looking for that forever home and family that will ALWAYS be there for him. Hero is well-behaved as far as puppies go and he would LOVE a playmate As you can see he gets along with other male dogs and females. Families with children will also be considered for this guy He loves everyone! and would really like a fenced in yard to run and play in.
 

Zorna

This is Zorna 5 y/o red female with natural ears. Zorna is very affectionate and longs to be with her "people". She is playful and behaves well. Best as an only pet or perhaps a male dog that is willing to let her be the leader.

Angel

This is Angel a 2 1/2 yr old red natural eared female. Angel is a bit shy at first but really wants to be loved and snuggled. As you can see from her photos she loves a good belly rub. This is a gentle girl who is housebroken, good with other dogs and ok with children over 12.

Electra

This is Electra a cropped and docked large black female. Does OK with other dogs her size of the opposite sex. NO small dogs. Electra is a velcro dog as most Dobermans are and bonds very hard to her loved ones. She will require an experienced Doberman owner that will keep her busy. She is very intelligent. We here at DPRWPA think she would make an awesome obedience or agility dog.

Chief

This is Chief a 5 to 6 year old red male . Chief was rescued from a shelter in Philadelphia after DPRWPA was contacted about him. He is adorable and would make an awesome family member. Chief has not been cat tested but he does get along with females of his own species. He is fully housebroken,  loves to play and carries his stuffed animal around. This guys past is unknown as he was picked up as a stray, but he seems to trust people and wants to be near them. He is waiting for his new family patiently and is keeping his paws crossed they will come and see him soon.

Kayna

This is Kayna a 5 year old black and rust cropped and docked female. NO CATS PLEASE. She seems very sweet and loving as most Dobermans are. She would love a visit from a potential family and enjoys a good back scratch and the company. More to come on Kayna as we get to know her better. Look at that face! Makes you want to smile doesn't it?

Indie

This is a 9 month old natural eared female that just came into rescue. Her and her sister were practically living outside and wild. This cute little girl will steal your heart. She has not played with any toys yet as I do not think she knows how. She is quite elusive at first but after 1 day here she is already laying next to me and following me. This little girl seems to have been left on her own quite a bit and would benefit from a family that would take her places so she could see there is a whole new world out there waiting for her.

Bo

Bo is a 3 to 4 year old black cropped and flopped male. He is very good with other large dogs, and children. Bo has a lot of personality and will play tug and loves walks. Proud and gorgeous this guy prances like a show dog, and loves to snuggle. Come for a visit and see for yourself!

Bonnie

This is Bonnie. Bonnie cropped and docked red female who has made a major breakthrough in her life. She has learned to accept other dogs! She of course would have to OK the other dog first but she now ready to be placed in a home with a male dog. What wonderful progress for her. This is a big step for this girl and we are all so very happy for her. Bonnie is 3 yrs old and ready to go home!

This is a 1 year old all natural black male who is very playful and gets along with other dogs. Ace is a happy-go-lucky boy who just wants to have fun and a family of his own. Ace had a pretty tough beginning in life but is doing so much better he is ready for his forever home.

Zoe is a very special girl and is beyond housebroken . She is well-behaved and looking for a second chance. She does not chew, bark excessively and sticks around her people like glue. Don’t pass this one up, she is a real doll. Her personality will capture you and her manners will amaze you.

Achilles

This is Achilles a 2 1/2 y/o red male that would do best in a home with another dog. He gets a little anxious when left alone, but if he has another dog to play with he is calmer. Gets along with males and females. Not sure about cats, but he does like the games of chase so we are looking for a home with NO children. He tends to chase them when they run. Fenced in yard a must because of this .Achilles is lonely and looking for someone to love, won't you please give him a chance?

Ben

Ben is a wonderful dog but do to his extreme dislike of cats he must be placed immediately unfortunately he may go back to the pound if he is not placed. We have several cats in our home and he got out of his crate and attacked one. Ben is around 1½yrs. He is about 60lbs. He knows sit, shake and is doing good on heal. He has a rather mature attitude and seem to enjoy life. He is crate trained and house broke. He does well with other dogs but can be picky about liking some males. He is NOT good with cats he thinks they are for lunch. Ben likes to get lots of attention and love. He enjoys being around people. He is good with kids. He likes to play with toys and to chase balls. Ben is very very intelligent. He will bark when some one comes in that he does not know to alert you they are here. He does not have a docked tail or cropped ears. Ben is up to date on his shots, micro-chipped and neutered

Dodger

Dodger 3 1/2 y/o black cropped and docked male. He is so beautiful and has been waiting so long for that forever home. He thinks that right person just has not seen him yet. Look how beautiful he is.. Dodger is very sweet and would prefer a home with someone who will spoil him rotten. He is ok with kids over 12 and is ok with dogs that are extremely tolerant of his ruff-housing! He will be your best friend, companion and protector. This is a very devoted boy with good manners.

Uma

New Arrival: Velcro female Dobie, natural ears and docked tail.

She is a real sweetheart!

Uma came to us from Kentucky where she was crated most of her life.

She was used for breeding and when she was no longer useful, she was discarded. She deserves a chance at a real life now. Uma travels well and is generally well behaved, but she shows signs of female dominance.

Uma is a small natural eared female with docked tail. She is a BLUE Doberman with one of the best hair coats I have seen in a while. We think she is between 3 or 4 yrs old., but its hard to tell. She apparently was kept confined a lot and tried to chew her way out of her crate or kennel and must have had pups in the past also. She has broken canines with the nerves showing and her other teeth are very worn. Uma does have a vet appt to have a dental done as well as a spay. NO MORE pups for this poor girl. Uma will be ready for adoption come APRIL, but she still would love a visit from a potential caring owner. She is very sweet but somewhat dominant with other dogs, so she can only go to a home with a male dog that is pretty laid back. Look at that face, she is just begging for some LOVE and CARE!

Black natural eared 9 mo old male looking for his forever home. A little shy at first but warms up after a few minutes. Playful , good with other dogs . This is a big boy, that still has a lot to learn and has a lot of puppy in him. Come for a visit and see for yourself. You will fall in love.

This is Sadie 1 y/o cropped and docked black female from a shelter in OHIO. This dog was recently taken in by Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Western Pa. As you can see Sadie’s first year of life wasn’t so good. She has demodex mange and is undergoing treatments at this time. She is a very sweet girl that is looking to find that home that will take care of her . She is in foster care at this time and will not be ready for adoption until her mange is taken care of and she is spayed., but if you are interested please call to see her. She loves attention and would appreciate a visit.

Dozer

Dozer is a 2 year old blue Doberboy who was found running wild with his Great Dane friend in West Virginia. Dozer has arrived and I could have just cried when I saw him. He is so thin and in terrible condition. It appears as though he and his Dane friend have been running wild for quite some time. He has multiple scars and his coat is atrocious! Dozer is somewhat confused and it will take us awhile to get him settled. We do feel at this time Dozer would do best in a home where he is the only dog.

Update: Dozer is a super sweet and pretty quiet. He appears to be house trained which is somewhat incredible considering we think he spent most of his time running outside. Dozer will need a loving home who is devoted to getting him in good condition. This boy is truly in need of a warm, loving home. He is very velcro with humans and will follow you everywhere.
